61Cu-NuriPro is a copper-based diagnostic radiopharmaceutical developed for PET imaging of prostate cancer. It specifically targets the Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), a biomarker highly expressed in prostate carcinoma cells, enabling precise diagnosis and disease staging. The agent uses copper-61 (with a half-life of approximately 3.3 hours) chelated to a PSMA-targeting ligand (NODAGA), allowing for delayed imaging and improved detection of small metastases compared to conventional fluorine-based tracers. Its longer half-life facilitates broader distribution and on-demand preparation at room temperature, simplifying logistics and workflow in clinical settings. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials as an imaging tool for patients with PSMA-positive prostate cancer[1][2][5][6][7][8][9].
