64Cu-benzyl-TETA-MAb 1A3 is a radiopharmaceutical imaging and therapeutic agent consisting of the monoclonal antibody 1A3 labeled with copper-64, a positron-emitting radionuclide, using the bifunctional chelate benzyl-TETA (bromoacetamidobenzyl-tetraazacyclotetradecane-tetraacetic acid). The monoclonal antibody 1A3 is an anticolorectal carcinoma antibody that specifically targets colorectal cancer cells. Developed at the Washington University School of Medicine and the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, this agent was primarily investigated for PET (positron emission tomography) imaging of colorectal cancer to detect primary and metastatic tumor sites, including small occult lesions. It has also been explored for potential applications in radioimmunotherapy due to the decay properties of copper-64.
