**64Cu-CANF-comb** is an investigational, NPR-C-targeted polymeric comb nanoparticle PET radiotracer for molecular imaging of atherosclerotic plaque. It incorporates C-type atrial natriuretic factor peptide as the targeting ligand and copper-64 as the PET radionuclide; CANF binding enables imaging of natriuretic peptide clearance receptor expression in plaque-associated vascular smooth-muscle cells, endothelial cells, and macrophages. Preclinical studies showed receptor-specific plaque uptake and identified the 25% CANF-conjugated construct as the leading composition. The clinical program uses the specifically defined 64Cu-25%-CANF-Comb construct in PET/MRI studies of asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis.
