Overview

64Cu-DOTA-daratumumab is a radiopharmaceutical imaging agent developed by City of Hope Medical Center for the detection and monitoring of multiple myeloma. It consists of the human monoclonal antibody daratumumab, which targets the CD38 protein highly expressed on plasma cells, conjugated to the DOTA (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid) chelator and labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope copper-64 (64Cu). This tracer is designed for use with positron emission tomography (PET) imaging to evaluate disease extent, monitor treatment response, and potentially offer higher sensitivity than standard 18F-FDG PET/CT in patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed multiple myeloma.
