64Cu-PD-32766 is a novel radiopharmaceutical designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging in patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). It consists of a macrocyclic peptide ligand (PD-32766) that selectively targets Carbonic Anhydrase IX (CAIX), a cell surface antigen highly expressed in approximately 95% of ccRCC tumors but minimally present in normal tissues. The peptide is labeled with the positron-emitting radionuclide copper-64 (^64Cu), enabling sensitive and specific PET imaging of CAIX-expressing tumors. Developed using PeptiDream’s proprietary Peptide Discovery Platform System technology, the agent has demonstrated high tumor uptake and rapid clearance from blood in early-phase clinical trials. Its primary use is as a diagnostic tool for detecting ccRCC lesions; however, its theranostic potential is being explored by substituting ^64Cu with therapeutic radionuclides such as actinium-225 (^225Ac). Early human studies have shown excellent safety and diagnostic performance without significant adverse events[1][3][4][5][6][7][8].
