64Cu-RAX301 is a next-generation radiopharmaceutical PET tracer targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). It consists of the RAX301 ligand labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope copper-64 (64Cu). Designed to overcome the limitations of shorter-lived tracers like 68Ga-PSMA-11, 64Cu-RAX301 exhibits ultra-high binding affinity (sub-picomolar Kd) and extended biochemical stability, allowing for delayed imaging up to 24 hours post-injection. This extended imaging window, combined with high tumor-to-background contrast and minimal urinary interference in the pelvic region, enhances the detection of small metastatic lesions and lymph node metastases in patients with prostate cancer, including metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).
