Drug intelligence / Profile preview
64Cu-rhPSMA-7.3 is an investigational radiohybrid (rh) prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted radiopharmaceutical developed by Blue Earth Diagnostics (a Bracco company) for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of prostate cancer. It consists of the single-diastereoisomer radiohybrid PSMA ligand rhPSMA-7.3 labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope copper-64 (64Cu). Due to the longer half-life of copper-64 (12.7 hours) compared to fluorine-18 (110 minutes), 64Cu-rhPSMA-7.3 offers potential logistical advantages, high-contrast imaging, and next-day imaging capabilities. It binds to PSMA (glutamate carboxypeptidase 2) expressed on prostate cancer cells, allowing for the visualization of PSMA-positive lesions.
