Drug intelligence / Profile preview
64Cu-small molecule is a preclinical-stage radiotherapeutic program being developed by LinqMed for the treatment of bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma). The program utilizes the copper radioisotope copper-64 (64Cu), which emits both beta particles and high-linear energy transfer (high-LET) Auger electrons to effectively destroy cancer cells, while also emitting positrons to enable real-time, non-invasive positron emission tomography (PET) imaging (theranostics). Preclinical research by LinqMed co-founders has investigated various 64Cu-labeled tripodal amine complexes (such as 64Cu-Tren and 64Cu-Dien) in extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma models to optimize tumor delivery and minimize liver accumulation.
