68Ga-3BP-6146 is an investigational Gallium-68 (68Ga)-labeled radiopharmaceutical PET tracer designed to target the urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR). uPAR is a cell-surface receptor that is frequently overexpressed in various solid tumors and is associated with aggressive tumor behavior and poor prognosis. Developed by St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, in collaboration with 3B Pharmaceuticals, this tracer is being evaluated for its ability to non-invasively detect and image tumors in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, and gastrointestinal cancers using PET/CT imaging. As a radiolabeled peptide, it binds selectively to uPAR-expressing tumor cells, providing a diagnostic tool for tumor localization and potentially for patient stratification in uPAR-targeted therapies.
