Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-ACLY-DE is a gallium-68-labeled molecular imaging probe designed to target ATP-citrate lyase (ACLY), a key rate-limiting enzyme in the fatty acid synthesis pathway. Developed by Xijing Hospital of the Fourth Military Medical University, the radiopharmaceutical is utilized in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging to non-invasively monitor the evolution of fatty acid synthesis-mediated drug resistance in patients with BRAF-mutant melanoma undergoing targeted therapies (such as vemurafenib). By binding specifically to ACLY, 68Ga-ACLY-DE allows for the quantitative and qualitative assessment of enzyme activity, aiding in the detection, staging, and recurrence monitoring of melanoma lesions.
