Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-BED003 is a Gallium-68 labeled PET radiopharmaceutical developed by Blue Earth Diagnostics (following its acquisition of Coxeter) for the imaging of various solid tumors. The agent is designed to target Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP), a type II transmembrane serine protease that is significantly upregulated on cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) within the tumor microenvironment of many epithelial cancers. Because FAP expression is minimal in healthy adult tissues but high in the stroma of over 90% of carcinomas, 68Ga-BED003 serves as a high-contrast diagnostic tool for Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging. It is intended to assist in tumor staging, identification of metastatic lesions, and potentially the selection of patients for FAP-targeted radioligand therapies. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
