Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-dendrimersome is a gallium-68 radiolabeled, self-assembling supramolecular dendrimersome formulation developed as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent. Designed by researchers at Aix-Marseille University, this nanoradiotracer is engineered to evaluate the heterogeneity of the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect in solid tumors. By utilizing the passive targeting properties of its nanoparticle structure, 68Ga-dendrimersome accumulates in tumor tissues, allowing for highly sensitive and specific PET imaging of cancers, including those with low glucose uptake that are typically refractory to standard 18F-FDG imaging. Preclinical pharmacokinetic and biodistribution studies have focused on optimizing the dendrimersome formulation to minimize healthy organ exposure and accelerate renal clearance.
