Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-DOTA-A20FMDV2 is a radiolabeled peptide-based positron emission tomography (PET) diagnostic imaging agent targeting the integrin alpha-V beta-6 (αvβ6). The targeting moiety, A20FMDV2, is a 20-mer peptide derived from the VP1 coat protein of the foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) that exhibits high selectivity and nanomolar affinity for αvβ6. The peptide is conjugated to the chelator 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid (DOTA) and radiolabeled with gallium-68 (68Ga). Developed by researchers at Queen Mary University of London, 68Ga-DOTA-A20FMDV2 is being investigated for the molecular imaging and staging of αvβ6-expressing malignancies, such as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and breast cancer, as well as for evaluating the biodistribution and renal clearance of αvβ6-targeted radiopharmaceuticals.
