68Ga-DOTA-BPP is a peptide-based radiopharmaceutical developed for the molecular imaging of the bradykinin B1 receptor (B1R) using positron emission tomography (PET). The tracer comprises the positron-emitting radioisotope gallium-68 (68Ga) complexed with the chelator DOTA, which is conjugated to a high-affinity B1R-targeting peptide. While B1R expression is negligible in most healthy tissues, it is highly upregulated in various malignancies—including prostate, breast, and lung cancers—as well as in chronic inflammatory conditions. 68Ga-DOTA-BPP enables the non-invasive detection and quantification of B1R-positive lesions, offering potential utility in cancer diagnosis, patient stratification for B1R-targeted therapies, and monitoring of disease progression.
