68Ga-DOTA-CCK-66 is a radiolabeled peptide-based imaging agent designed for positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT). It consists of the minigastrin analog CCK-66 conjugated to DOTA and labeled with gallium-68. The compound specifically targets the cholecystokinin 2 receptor (CCK2R), which is overexpressed in certain tumors, notably medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) and other neuroendocrine neoplasms. Upon administration, it binds to CCK2R-expressing tumor cells, allowing for high-sensitivity PET imaging due to its favorable pharmacokinetics and high tumor uptake. This agent is being developed primarily as a diagnostic tool for localizing and characterizing CCK2R-positive tumors[1][2].
