68Ga-DOTA-SFLAP3 is a radiopharmaceutical PET tracer designed for the non-invasive imaging of integrin αvβ6 expression. Integrin αvβ6 is a cell surface receptor that is significantly upregulated in various epithelial cancers, particularly pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), while remaining virtually absent in healthy adult tissues, making it an ideal target for diagnostic imaging. The tracer is composed of the SFLAP3 peptide—a modified version of the sunflower trypsin inhibitor-1 (SFTI-1) scaffold—conjugated to the chelator DOTA and labeled with the positron-emitting isotope Gallium-68. Preclinical and early clinical data indicate that 68Ga-DOTA-SFLAP3 exhibits high affinity and specificity for integrin αvβ6, providing high-contrast PET images with significant accumulation in primary tumors and metastases.
