Overview
68Ga-DOTA-SHH (also known as OncoMedix) is a radiolabeled recombinant sonic hedgehog (SHH) protein conjugated to the bifunctional chelator DOTA and radiolabeled with the positron emitter Gallium-68 (68Ga). Developed by RadioMedix in collaboration with the MD Anderson Cancer Center, it is designed as a diagnostic PET imaging tracer to target the Patched-1 (PTCH1) receptor, which is overexpressed on cancer stem cells. The agent is intended for the non-invasive, real-time detection of Hedgehog pathway activation and the identification of aggressive, stem-cell-rich tumors, particularly in breast cancer.
