68Ga-EB-TATE is a radiopharmaceutical agent consisting of the somatostatin analog DOTA-octreotate (DOTA-TATE) conjugated to Evans blue (EB), and labeled with the positron-emitting radionuclide gallium-68. The addition of Evans blue allows reversible binding to serum albumin, resulting in prolonged blood circulation time and improved tumor retention compared to conventional agents. Mechanistically, it targets somatostatin receptor type 2 (SSTR2), which is overexpressed in many neuroendocrine tumors, enabling high-sensitivity PET imaging for diagnosis and management of these tumors. The drug has demonstrated favorable pharmacokinetics, safety profile, and enhanced tumor-to-background contrast in early clinical studies[1][6].
