Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-FT-FAPI is a radiopharmaceutical designed for Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) imaging. It functions as a Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP) inhibitor, labeled with the radioisotope Gallium-68. The drug targets Fibroblast Activation Protein, which is highly expressed on cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) found in the tumor stroma of a wide range of epithelial neoplasms. By selectively binding to FAP, 68Ga-FT-FAPI enables the visualization of tumors and their microenvironment, offering a diagnostic tool for the detection, staging, and recurrence monitoring of various cancers. It often demonstrates superior sensitivity and image contrast compared to conventional 18F-FDG PET/CT in certain tumor types due to low background uptake in normal tissues.
