Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-HER2 refers to a class of gallium-68 labeled radiopharmaceutical imaging agents designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) expression in solid tumors. These agents typically consist of a HER2-targeting moiety—such as an affibody (e.g., ABY-025, NOTA-MAL-MZHER2), a nanobody (e.g., VHH1), or a monoclonal antibody (e.g., trastuzumab)—conjugated to a chelator (such as DOTA or NOTA) and radiolabeled with the positron-emitting isotope gallium-68 (68Ga). By binding specifically to HER2 receptors on tumor cells, 68Ga-HER2 PET/CT or PET/MRI allows for noninvasive, whole-body visualization and quantification of HER2 expression. This molecular imaging approach is used to assess HER2 heterogeneity, select patients for HER2-targeted therapies, and monitor early therapeutic response or predict pathological complete response (pCR) to neoadjuvant therapy in patients with HER2-positive breast or gastric cancers.
