Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-labeled scFv-8 is a Gallium-68 (68Ga) radiolabeled single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibody targeting hypoglycosylated mucin-1 (MUC1) [4345]. Developed by researchers at the Mayo Clinic, this radiodiagnostic agent is designed for the molecular imaging and detection of cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) [4345]. Hypoglycosylated MUC1 is highly expressed on CCA cells, exposing tumor-specific epitopes that can be selectively targeted [4345]. The scFv-8 fragment was isolated using ribosome display technology and radiochemically conjugated with Gallium-68 for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging [4345]. In preclinical orthotopic xenograft mouse models of CCA, 68Ga-labeled scFv-8 demonstrated selective binding, favorable biodistribution, and localization within orthotopic tumors, showing potential as a precision-targeted theranostic agent [4345].
