68Ga-mNP-N is a dual-targeted diagnostic radiopharmaceutical nanoparticle developed for the PET/MRI imaging of prostate cancer. It consists of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (mNP) functionalized with amine (-NH2) groups, which are conjugated to pharmacophores targeting both prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) and gastrin-releasing peptide receptors (GRPR). Labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope Gallium-68 (68Ga), the agent enables high-sensitivity PET imaging, while the iron oxide core provides contrast for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This dual-receptor targeting strategy is designed to enhance the detection of prostate cancer lesions that may heterogeneously express PSMA and GRPR, potentially improving diagnostic sensitivity and specificity in cell lines such as LNCaP and PC-3.
