68Ga-NM-01 is a radiopharmaceutical imaging agent developed by NanoMab Technology for use in positron emission tomography (PET). It comprises a camelid-derived single-domain antibody (nanobody) fragment, NM-01, which has been radiolabeled with the positron-emitting isotope Gallium-68 (68Ga). The nanobody specifically binds to Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1), a key immune checkpoint protein that is frequently upregulated in various malignancies to evade immune detection. By targeting PD-L1, 68Ga-NM-01 enables the non-invasive visualization and quantification of PD-L1 expression across all tumor lesions within a patient, addressing the limitations of spatial and temporal heterogeneity associated with traditional tissue biopsies. This diagnostic tool is primarily intended to assist in the selection and monitoring of patients undergoing treatment with PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitors, such as pembrolizumab or atezolizumab.
