68Ga-NODAGA-AE105 is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic imaging agent designed for positron emission tomography (PET). It consists of the radionuclide Gallium-68 (68Ga) chelated by NODAGA and conjugated to the peptide AE105, which is a high-affinity antagonist of the urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR). uPAR is frequently overexpressed in various aggressive cancers, including glioblastoma, breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers, where it facilitates cell invasion and metastasis. By binding specifically to uPAR, this tracer allows for the non-invasive visualization and quantification of uPAR expression in vivo, potentially identifying patients with poor prognosis or those eligible for uPAR-targeted therapies. The tracer is being developed commercially under the name uTRACE.
