Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-NOTA-4hD29 (also known as [68Ga]Ga-NOTA-4hD29) is a radiolabeled single-domain antibody (nanobody) targeting dipeptidyl peptidase-like protein 6 (DPP6), a cell surface biomarker highly enriched on pancreatic beta cells and to a lesser extent alpha cells. Developed by researchers at the ULB Center for Diabetes Research and Uppsala University, the tracer consists of the camelid-derived anti-DPP6 nanobody 4hD29 conjugated to the bifunctional chelator NOTA and radiolabeled with Gallium-68 (68Ga). It is designed as a non-invasive positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent to quantify beta cell mass (BCM) in vivo, which can aid in monitoring the progression of type 1 diabetes (T1D) and evaluating the survival of transplanted pancreatic islets or stem cell-derived islets.
