68Ga-NOTA-MAL-MZHER2 is a radiopharmaceutical PET imaging agent developed by Xijing Hospital for the non-invasive detection of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) expression in tumors. It consists of a small engineered protein scaffold (affibody molecule), approximately 7 kDa in size, labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope Gallium-68 via a NOTA-MAL chelator. By targeting the HER2 receptor with high affinity and specificity, the agent allows for the visualization of HER2-positive lesions in patients with breast or gastric cancer, potentially guiding the selection of HER2-targeted therapies. Its small size facilitates rapid blood clearance and high-contrast imaging shortly after injection.
