68Ga-NOTA-MW70 is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic imaging agent developed by Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, for the detection and characterization of malignant renal tumors, specifically renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The agent consists of the positron-emitting radioisotope Gallium-68 (68Ga) chelated by 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triacetic acid (NOTA) and conjugated to MW70, a targeting moiety specific for CD70 (Cluster of Differentiation 70). CD70 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily that is highly expressed in various malignancies, including clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), while having limited expression in normal tissues. By binding to CD70, 68Ga-NOTA-MW70 allows for non-invasive PET/CT imaging to evaluate quantitative uptake metrics and diagnostic performance, potentially aiding in the staging and management of renal cancer.
