68Ga-NOTA-RF is a novel diagnostic radiopharmaceutical designed as a positron emission tomography (PET) molecular probe. It specifically targets riboflavin transporter 3 (RFVT3), a protein that is overexpressed in certain conditions, such as pituitary adenomas. By binding to RFVT3, the radiotracer allows for non-invasive imaging and characterization of these lesions, offering potential value in early tumor detection, metabolic subtype differentiation, and molecular classification. The drug consists of the radionuclide Gallium-68 (68Ga) chelated by 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triacetic acid (NOTA) and conjugated to a riboflavin-derived targeting moiety (RF). It is administered via intravenous injection.
