Overview

68Ga-Onco-ACP3 is a small molecule radiopharmaceutical developed by Philogen for the diagnostic imaging of prostate cancer using Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The tracer consists of a small molecule ligand with ultra-high affinity for Acid Phosphatase 3 (ACP3), also known as Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (PAP), which is abundantly expressed in prostate cancer cells but minimally present in normal tissues. The ligand is conjugated to a DOTA chelator and labeled with the radioisotope Gallium-68 (68Ga). It is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials to determine its safety, dosimetry, and biodistribution in patients with prostate cancer. This compound is part of a theranostic approach, where the same targeting moiety can be labeled with different isotopes for either diagnostic (e.g., 68Ga, 18F) or therapeutic (e.g., 177Lu) purposes.
