68Ga-PMD014 is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic imaging agent developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. It consists of the radionuclide Gallium-68 (68Ga) conjugated to PMD014, a ligand that specifically targets the Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (EpCAM). EpCAM is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is highly expressed in various malignant solid tumors of epithelial origin but has limited expression in normal tissues, making it an ideal target for cancer imaging. 68Ga-PMD014 is utilized in positron emission tomography (PET/CT) to detect primary lesions and lymph node metastases in treatment-naive patients. By providing high-contrast visualization of EpCAM-positive cells, this tracer aids in the staging, biodistribution assessment, and radiation dosimetry of epithelial cancers.
