**68Ga-RGD2** is a radiopharmaceutical agent consisting of a dimeric Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) peptide labeled with the positron-emitting isotope Gallium-68 via a DOTA chelator. This tracer specifically binds to the integrin αvβ3, a protein overexpressed on activated endothelial cells involved in angiogenesis, especially in tumors and sites of active inflammation. Its primary mechanism is targeting integrin αvβ3 for non-invasive imaging of angiogenesis and vascular remodeling using PET/CT. 68Ga-RGD2 has been used for assessing disease activity and response to therapy in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and to image activated vascular endothelium in oncology and inflammatory diseases such as COVID-19 pneumonia[2][5][6].
