68Ga-satoreotide trizoxetan is a **radiopharmaceutical imaging agent** composed of the somatostatin receptor antagonist peptide satoreotide trizoxetan (OPS202) labeled with the positron-emitting radionuclide gallium-68. Its **mechanism of action** is selective binding to **somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR2)**, which is overexpressed in neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and certain aggressive cancers. This allows targeted **PET imaging** of SSTR2-positive tumors, resulting in higher tumor-to-background ratios and sensitivity for lesion detection compared to somatostatin receptor agonists. Developed and currently manufactured by Ariceum Therapeutics, this agent is used for diagnostic imaging in NETs and is being explored as a component in theranostic pairs for combined diagnosis and therapy in neuroendocrine malignancies, including small cell lung cancer and high-grade neuroendocrine lung cancer[1][2][3][5][7].
