Overview

68Ga-THP-APN09 is a radiopharmaceutical candidate designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of Aminopeptidase N (APN/CD13) expression. It consists of the radioisotope Gallium-68 (68Ga) chelated by a tris(hydroxypyridinone) (THP) ligand, which is conjugated to the APN09 peptide. APN09 is a cyclic peptide ligand that specifically binds to CD13, a zinc-dependent metalloproteinase overexpressed on the surface of various tumor cells and neovascular endothelial cells during angiogenesis. The use of the THP chelator allows for rapid, high-affinity radiolabeling at room temperature and near-neutral pH, facilitating simplified "shake-and-shoot" radiopharmacy applications. This tracer is primarily investigated for its potential in detecting CD13-positive tumors and monitoring tumor-associated angiogenesis in oncology.
