Overview

7,3'-di-O-methyltaxifolin is a methylated flavonoid derivative of taxifolin (dihydroquercetin) isolated from the plant *Pulicaria jaubertii*. It has been investigated for its potential anticancer properties, specifically against colorectal cancer cell lines such as HCT-116. The compound exerts its effects by inducing apoptosis, characterized by chromatin condensation and nuclear shrinkage, and by upregulating the expression of pro-apoptotic markers including caspase-3 and caspase-9. Molecular docking studies suggest that it may also interact with anti-apoptotic proteins like Bcl-xl and signaling kinases such as JAK2, showing favorable binding affinities that support its role as a potential lead compound in cancer research.
