Auro Vaccines is developing a 7-valent therapeutic HPV vaccine utilizing a heterologous prime-boost strategy for the treatment of cervical and head and neck cancers caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). The vaccine regimen consists of a DNA vaccine prime (GeneVax™), which is co-administered with Interleukin-12 (IL-12) and delivered via electroporation to initiate cellular immunity. This is followed by a boost with a vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV)-based viral vector (VesiculoVax™) designed to amplify HPV-specific T-cell immune responses. The vaccine targets seven high-risk HPV types responsible for over 92% of HPV-related cervical and head and neck cancers. By inducing robust cell-mediated immune responses against tumor-associated viral antigens, the vaccine aims to generate effector T cells capable of attacking virally infected and malignant cells, potentially serving as an adjunct to surgical treatment.
