7HP935 is a first-in-class small molecule integrin activator developed by 7 Hills Pharma. It selectively and safely activates the integrin VLA-4 (also known as α4β1 integrin) to augment the homing and engraftment of transplanted hematopoietic stem cells into the bone marrow niche. The drug is designed to improve outcomes in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), particularly by accelerating immune reconstitution, reducing infection rates, shortening hospital stays, and potentially improving access for patients who have difficulty finding matched donors—such as those from minority populations. Its mechanism leverages allosteric activation of VLA-4 to enhance cell-cell interactions critical for effective immune response and engraftment. As of June 2024, it is in preclinical/IND-enabling studies with plans for Phase I clinical trials targeting hematologic malignancies such as leukemia[1][2][3][6].
