7x19 CAR-T is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy engineered to target the CD19 antigen, primarily for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphomas. Developed by Wenbin Qian and researchers at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, this therapy utilizes a safety-engineered lentiviral vector (4SCAR) to express a CD19-specific CAR along with two immune-modulating factors: Interleukin-7 (IL-7) and Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 19 (CCL19). IL-7 is a cytokine essential for T-cell survival and homeostatic expansion, while CCL19 is a chemokine that facilitates the recruitment of endogenous T cells and dendritic cells into the tumor microenvironment. By co-expressing these factors, 7x19 CAR-T aims to enhance the persistence of the engineered cells and overcome the immunosuppressive barriers of the tumor microenvironment, potentially improving clinical outcomes in patients with aggressive B-cell malignancies.
