Overview

800TCR is an investigational autologous T cell receptor (TCR)–engineered T cell therapy targeting the HERV-E antigen for the treatment of metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). The product consists of a patient’s own T cells genetically modified ex vivo to express a high-affinity TCR specific for an HLA class I–restricted HERV-E epitope selectively expressed in the majority of ccRCC but not in normal tissues. After lymphocyte collection and engineering, the 800TCR cells are expanded and reinfused to mediate antigen-specific cytotoxicity against HERV-E–positive tumor cells. The program was initially developed at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and is being advanced by T-Cure Bioscience and partners in early clinical development for ccRCC.[1][2][5]
