Drug intelligence / Profile preview
`89Zr-c11H9` is a radiolabeled chimeric monoclonal antibody (mAb) targeting carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX). It is developed as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer to detect tumor hypoxia and select patients for CAIX-targeted therapies or radioimmunotherapy. The agent consists of the chimeric mouse/human monoclonal antibody c11H9, which specifically binds to the proteoglycan-like domain of CAIX, conjugated to the chelator DFO*-pPhe-NCS (DFO*) and radiolabeled with the positron-emitting isotope zirconium-89 ($^{89}\text{Zr}$). CAIX is a cell-surface metalloenzyme overexpressed in hypoxic tumor microenvironments to regulate intracellular pH, promoting tumor cell survival, invasion, and metastasis. By targeting CAIX, `89Zr-c11H9` serves as an immunoPET tracer to visualize CAIX-positive solid tumors, such as colorectal adenocarcinoma.
