89Zr-dezamizumab

89Zr-dezamizumab is a radiolabeled formulation of dezamizumab, a fully humanized recombinant monoclonal IgG1 antibody targeting serum amyloid P component (SAP) on amyloid deposits. Its mechanism involves binding SAP, present in all human amyloid deposits, and mediating targeted immunotherapeutic clearance of amyloid by activating the classical complement pathway, opsonizing amyloid with complement C3, and recruiting macrophages to destroy the deposits. The radiolabeling with zirconium-89 enables PET imaging to assess drug biodistribution and amyloid targeting. Developed for research in systemic amyloidosis, including cardiac amyloidosis, its use has included investigational immuno-PET imaging and therapeutic studies[1][3][4].
