Drug intelligence / Profile preview
89Zr-DFO-C14 + 161Tb-DOTA-C14 is a preclinical theranostic radiopharmaceutical combination targeting Mucin 13 (MUC13) for the staging and treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC). The diagnostic component, 89Zr-DFO-C14, consists of the MUC13-targeting monoclonal antibody clone C14 conjugated to deferoxamine (DFO) and radiolabeled with zirconium-89 (89Zr) for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging to assess target density and select patients. The therapeutic component, 161Tb-DOTA-C14, consists of the C14 antibody conjugated to 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid (DOTA) and radiolabeled with terbium-161 (161Tb), a dual beta- and Auger electron-emitting radionuclide, for targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT) and SPECT imaging. This theranostic pair is being developed by researchers at institutions including the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
