Drug intelligence / Profile preview
89Zr-DFO-MAB4219 is a zirconium-89 labeled, deferoxamine (DFO)-conjugated monoclonal antibody targeting Claudin-4 (CLDN4), a tight junction protein frequently overexpressed in colorectal cancer and other epithelial malignancies. Developed preclinically by researchers at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, this radiotheranostic probe is designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). By leveraging the disrupted junctional architecture and aberrant surface exposure of CLDN4 in malignant tissues, 89Zr-DFO-MAB4219 enables selective tumor-specific visualization and serves as a diagnostic companion to therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals targeting the same pathway.
