Drug intelligence / Profile preview
89Zr-DFO-rhodamine is a zirconium-89 labeled rhodamine conjugate developed as a positron emission tomography (PET) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) agent. It consists of a rhodamine dye conjugated to the chelator deferoxamine (DFO) and radiolabeled with zirconium-89 (89Zr). Rhodamine dyes naturally accumulate in the myocardium, making them useful for evaluating myocardial ischemia and infarction. Preclinical studies in animal models have demonstrated high myocardial uptake and stable retention, suggesting its potential as a high-resolution PET tracer for cardiac imaging.
