Drug intelligence / Profile preview
89zr-oxine-ry_sw01 is a radiolabeled mesenchymal stem cell therapy in development for the treatment of systemic sclerosis, lupus nephritis, and type 2 diabetes mellitus with established diabetic nephropathy. The product consists of mesenchymal stem cells labeled with zirconium-89 oxine ([^89Zr]oxinate4), enabling both therapeutic action and in vivo tracking via positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. The labeling allows monitoring of cell distribution and persistence after administration. The primary mechanism is believed to be immunomodulation and anti-fibrotic activity by the administered stem cells, while the ^89Zr label provides a means for non-invasive imaging to study biodistribution and kinetics. Developed by Jiangsu Renocell Biotech (also referred to as Jiangsu Ruiyuan Biotechnology), this therapy is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for systemic sclerosis and other immune-mediated diseases[1][2][3].
