9-valent human papillomavirus vaccine + elasomeran is a concomitant vaccination regimen consisting of the 9-valent recombinant human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine (Gardasil 9) and the mRNA-1273 SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (elasomeran). Developed by Merck & Co. and Moderna, this regimen is being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials to assess the safety and immunogenicity of administering both vaccines together, particularly in children aged 9 to 11 years. The HPV component provides protection against HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58, which are associated with cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases. The mRNA-1273 component is a nucleoside-modified messenger RNA vaccine that encodes the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to prevent COVID-19. The study aims to facilitate healthcare delivery by reducing the number of visits required for adolescent immunization.
