Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A 9-valent recombinant human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine developed by Jiangsu Zhonghui Yuantong Biotechnology. The vaccine is produced using a *Pichia pastoris* yeast expression system and is composed of purified virus-like particles (VLPs) of the major capsid (L1) protein of HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58. It is designed to elicit a humoral immune response, producing neutralizing antibodies that prevent HPV infection and subsequent development of cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancers, as well as genital warts. The candidate is currently in Phase I/II clinical trials in China to evaluate its safety, immunogenicity, and various immunization schedules in healthy women.
