99mTc-3PRGD2 is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic agent composed of a pegylated arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD) dimer labeled with technetium Tc 99m. It targets the integrin αvβ3 receptor, which is overexpressed in tumor angiogenesis and certain cancer cells. This agent is used primarily for single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT/CT) imaging to detect tumors, evaluate tumor response to therapy, and image angiogenesis. It has been studied extensively in lung cancer diagnosis and evaluation of lymph node metastases. The tracer exhibits rapid blood clearance mainly via renal excretion and shows good imaging quality with low background uptake in lungs and mediastinum facilitating lesion detection.
