Overview

99mTc-HFAPI is a radiopharmaceutical used in Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) imaging. It is primarily utilized for detecting fibroblast activation protein-alpha (FAP-α) positive cells, which are often associated with cancer and fibrotic diseases. The compound is labeled with technetium-99m, a gamma-emitting radionuclide, allowing for visualization of FAP-α expression in various tissues. It has shown promise in diagnosing gastrointestinal tumors and pulmonary fibrosis by highlighting areas of high FAP-α activity.
