Drug intelligence / Profile preview
99mTc-HYNIC-RGD is a technetium-99m labeled radiopharmaceutical consisting of a cyclic RGD (arginine-glycine-aspartate) peptide conjugated to the bifunctional chelator hydrazinonicotinamide (HYNIC). It is designed as a single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging agent that targets integrin αvβ3, which is highly expressed on angiogenically active endothelial cells and various tumor cells. By binding to integrin αvβ3, 99mTc-HYNIC-RGD allows for the non-invasive visualization and quantification of tumor angiogenesis and integrin expression, particularly in cancers such as locally advanced breast cancer, glioma, and lung cancer.
