Drug intelligence / Profile preview
99mTc-NS654 is a novel technetium-99m labeled radioligand based on an alpha-ketoamide fibroblast activation protein (FAP) inhibitor. Developed by Charles University and the Czech Academy of Sciences, it is designed for targeting and imaging FAP-expressing tumors, particularly brain metastases. In preclinical studies, 99mTc-NS654 demonstrated specific binding to FAP-expressing cells, efficient internalization, and favorable pharmacokinetics. Crucially, it has been shown to cross the blood-tumor barrier and selectively accumulate in intracranial tumors, supporting its potential use as a diagnostic SPECT imaging agent for brain metastases.
